Music 'calms nerves before surgery' as well as sedative

You've probably said this before: "music is a drug"... but did you know that music could actually work as medicine? The most common application is getting patients to play instruments while undergoing surgery to monitor brain function, as well as helping with autism and dementia. But more recently, scientists have discovered that music has sedative properties and is currently being used to release anxiety from patients before going into surgery.
